Progress is Sneaky (and That’s a Good Thing)

Progress is sneaky.

It doesn’t always show up in the way we expect. In fact, most of the time, it feels like the opposite. Like you’re stuck. Like you’re failing. Like nothing is working.

But here’s the truth: progress isn’t meant to be felt in the moment—it’s meant to be seen over time.

Think about it. You didn’t learn how to read overnight. You didn’t become who you are in a day. So why do we expect our bodies, our minds, or our lives to change instantly?

We don’t give ourselves the same patience we give everything else.

Instead, we zoom in too close. We focus on the hard days—the days when motivation is gone, when everything feels heavy, when showing up feels like the last thing we want to do.

I have those days too.

Yesterday, I worked out… and I didn’t want to. At all. There was no motivation. No excitement. No “this feels amazing” moment.

But I showed up anyway.

And that’s the part that matters.

Because life isn’t about showing up perfectly—it’s about showing up imperfectly. Again and again.

It’s about proving to yourself that you matter, not just on the easy days, but on the hard ones too.

When you’re tired.

When you’re overwhelmed.

When you’re just not feeling it.

Those are the days that build something deeper than motivation ever could.

They build discipline.

They build confidence.

They build trust in yourself.

And maybe most importantly—they remind you that feelings are not facts.

Feelings pass. Growth stays.

So the next time it feels like you’re not making progress, take a step back.

Look at how far you’ve come.

Look at the days you showed up anyway.

Look at the version of you that didn’t quit.

That’s progress.

Even if it didn’t feel like it at the time.

💬 Real talk for a second…

Be honest—how many of us didn’t feel like showing up today?

👉 Did you show up anyway?

Comment YES or NO—no pressure, just honesty.

Or…

👉 Tell me one small thing you did recently that you almost skipped but didn’t.

I’ll go first: I didn’t want to work out yesterday, but I did it anyway.

Your turn 💚

💚 Not a Morning Mom Reminder: You don’t have to be perfect to be making progress. You just have to keep going.
